Genre/Mood:
The title of this record is a cheeky nod to the playful nature of my earlier releases. However, it explores new moods; relax, groove, chill, sex and slow vibe. As well as new styles; Dub, Indie-Soul, Surf-rock and Alt-rock.
Recording:
The record was written, recorded, produced and mixed all in the comfort of my own home. I like to take my time and explore every possible angle for a tune. These tracks were on the burner for about 2 years so I think they are well and truely cooked.
Inspiration:
The production on this record is reminiscent of Khruangbin (The Universe Smile Upon You & Con Todo El Mundo), Cymande (Promised Heights & Cymande), Shuggie Otis (Inspiration Information) and El Michels Affair (Ekundayo Inversions). Percussion inspiration for this record was taken from Milton Nascimento (Clube Da Esquina), Herbie Hancock (Head Hunters), Cymande (Promised Heights & Cymande) and Khruangbin (The Universe Smile Upon You & Con Todo El Mundo). Mood inspiration from Surprise Chef (All News Is Good News), Karate Boogaloo (Look Around/Little Bit), Khruangbin (The Universe Smile Upon You & Con Todo El Mundo), Son Little (aloha) and Connan Mockasin (Charlotte’s Thong).
